Welcome to my home page. You might have come in here expecting to find a fuller version of my book Contours of Pauline Theology. In this version you will find the footnotes and full text that the publisher edited for the sake of brevity and to help none academics access the work.
For those who have not read the book but would like to have some idea of what it is about, the conclusion gives a summary of the arguments. Click here to access this chapter

As it would be unfair to the publisher if the longer version of the book were freely available, I will give access to each chapter in return for a donation to a nominated charity. The 'gift' will be to support a charity (for our American friends, a foundation) that supports Christian young people working in schools. Using their gap year they share their faith and Christian values with other younger students. Payment will go straight to the charity without any deductions, other than what the agency that handles the donation makes for its services.
If you have not bought the book itself, I would recommend that, rather than donating for individual chapters, you buy the hardback copy of the book. It would be much cheaper and you will have a hardback bound copy. It is also easier to read.

An increasing number have written to me about the book and its impact on their thinking. It seems to me that it would be sensible to facilitate those who want to share with others in their search for a better reading of Paul to 'speak' to each other. To this end you are invited to use the discussion forum. I would ask that you keep this site to developing themes that have arisen out of Contours as the site would be overcrowded if it drifted into a general theological forum. I don't propose to get involved in answering issues directly, but I will watch on to see what issues are being explored. The site will be monitored to make sure that it is not being abused.

I would be grateful if you would alert any who you know are interested in Biblical Studies to the existence of this site, and please ask your contacts to do likewise.

If you would like to leave your email address then I will let you know when material is added to this site. If you have read my book and want to make comments to me personally I will read them. I cannot promise an individual reply because of work pressure, but I intend to answer issues that are relevant on the home page for all to share. Please make your comments as concise as possible, thank you.
